1) Confidence

Confidence is a trait that is required in every possible field. If you want to achieve something then the first thing you need is confidence. You have to be confident to become a successful hostess. This field requires confidence. Your customers will be disappointed if you fail to stand in front of them with confidence. You have to meet different types of people every day so being confident will help you handle your job in a right manner. The job requires you to work with confidence. Everything you say should be done with confidence. Whether or not a candidate is confident is usually evident from the interview, when the employers look for a hostess. You need the confidence to get the job of a hostess and also ace it.

2) Friendly

This quality is extremely important. A hostess should be polite and friendly. It is important to greet every customer with a smile because this is what the field requires. Talking to customers in a rude manner is a big no. Never talk to your customers rudely, always talk to them nicely with a smile on your face. A smile on your face will also lighten the mood of your customers. You will be able to get a better response as well.

3) Team player

You have to work with your colleagues. It is important to be nice to them. Never treat your subordinates or colleagues rudely. Work with them nicely. Also, you might have to multi-task at times. You can be asked to manage or handle something as well. 

4) Compassionate

Hospitality is about connecting with people. You have to be compassionate towards people. Always try to connect with these people because this profession is all about connection which can be emotional or just with the purpose of impressing the customers with effective services.
